It's that time of the year again and all you can see around you is red and pink, roses and chocolates, teddy bears and greeting cards and an endless amount of declarations of love. But you have never related to any of it. Neither did you have to buy any of it. You've never had a valentine ever in your life, so how could you relate? It sounds sad and depressing but it is actually okay.
It is okay if you've never had a date on valentine or a special person to celebrate it with. It's nothing a necessity, it's more like a luxury.
A lover is not something you NEED to feel fulfilled. There are so many other things in life to focus on which can give you the same amount of happiness if not more.
Think about all the money you are saving right now by not having a valentine. Being single has its perks. What if no one gifted you chocolates? Go buy them for yourself. (P.S. they're always on sale after the actual day.)
l understand scrolling through social media and seeing the couples being all happy and lovey-dovey makes you want to curl up in a blanket and not talk to anyone. You wish you had it, but you don't, which is absolutely fine. Because it certainly doesn't mean you won't have it in the near future anytime.
You might.
Who knows, the next valentine it might be you on other people's feed.
For this time, Happy Singletine's!
