Do you remember being scared that someday your favourite person will replace you with someone better and you will have no importance in their life anymore?
Let me break it to you, that is not true. It's impossible.
Sure, someone else might take the spot you were in for a long time, but there is no way they can replace you. You are still going to occupy some space in their heart reminding them of how it used to be. You will never be completely erased.
If you can't believe it, then go back and think about everyone who was once important to you but you aren't in touch with them anymore.
Do you ever switch channels on the television and land upon one playing a movie which was the favourite of a certain someone?
You think of them at that moment. Be it for a minute, but you do. You haven't erased them from your memory. Maybe there is someone else in that place right now, but you still remembered them from a silly movie.
That's how it works for everyone. You may think that your ex-bestfriend has found a better friend now. But there's still a time when they pass by your favourite spot and immediately think of all the times you both spent there.
Someone still thinks of you when they are eating
Ice-cream because they remember how crazy you were for them. Someone still has the birthday card you gave them when you were young and innocent.
People come and go. Priority lists of people change. There are people who become more important in your life and then, there are people you have to let go of. But at the end of the day, you still remember all of them.
You may have replaced them from your life but they still hold a place in your memories.
And, memories can never be replaced.
